SpoLead is an independent sports newspaper founded and run voluntarily by a refugee in Ireland. We believe sport is about more than results and trophies. It is also about people, opportunity, identity, resilience and stories that too often go unheard.
We want to bring greater attention to athletes and communities that are underrepresented in sports media, including women, refugees and emerging talent.

Trust and transparency
SpoLead is run voluntarily by its founder, a refugee based in Ireland, with help from volunteer contributors. SpoLead is not currently a registered charity, and contributions are not tax-deductible.
Contributions support the publication's overall work generally — they are not tied to a specific guaranteed outcome unless a particular fundraising campaign says otherwise. We do not currently publish donor numbers or financial reports; if that changes, this page will be updated.

Why should I support SpoLead?
SpoLead is independent and runs on voluntary effort. Reader support helps sustain the time, tools and reporting that go into every story — especially the ones mainstream sports media tends to skip.
How will contributions help?
Contributions support SpoLead's overall work: reporting, photography, interviews, website hosting and reaching new readers. They are not earmarked for one specific activity unless a particular campaign says otherwise.
Can I make a one-time contribution?

Can I contribute monthly?
Where it's been set up, yes — choose "Give monthly" to support SpoLead on an ongoing basis. You'll always see the recurring amount clearly before confirming.
How can I manage or cancel a recurring contribution?
You can cancel or manage a recurring contribution directly through Stripe, using the link in your payment confirmation email, or by contacting us and we'll help.
Is a contribution tax-deductible?
No. SpoLead is not currently a registered charity, so contributions are not tax-deductible.
